ALA and Other Wonders

Much has happened over the last two weeks!

I was at the American Library Association Convention where I went to the HarperCollins breakfast and met my editor, Jill Santopolo, for the first time.  I also met Alessandra Balzer and Donna Bray of Balzer and Bray, and a bunch of librarians who select books for lists like the Best Books for Young Adults.   We handed out many copies of Serendipity Market, and it was nice to see it on display in the Harper booth.

Then I went to a mini-residency at Vermont College of Fine Arts where I received my MFA in writing for children.  It was a great boost with tons of very good lectures and a reminder of how important all this writing stuff is!
